Genetic Testing: Find the Best Depression Medication for Your DNA
Genetic Testing is how our doctors can personalize your depression treatment with just a simple cheek swab.
Tired of guessing which depression medication might work for you? Here at Advantage Mental Health, our patients can find the best depression medication treatment with just one easy cheek swab. After our staff take your sample, a geneticist will analyze how your genes may interact with common psychiatric medications, so you can avoid endless frustrating medication trial-and-error periods.
You’ll receive a full report once your results come back, which you can keep and share with other healthcare providers in the future. Many patients find their genetic information in this report to be valuable beyond just mental health care. And the good news? In many cases, insurance will cover most of the cost of the test.
Specialized Treatments
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS, is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. These pulses help normalize brain chemistry, leading to long-term symptom relief for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and OCD.
The treatment consists of 36 sessions, each lasting approximately 19 minutes, and is performed daily over the course of several weeks. Patients love TMS because it’s medication-free, making it an excellent option for those who haven’t responded well to antidepressants in the past.
Our clinic offers the highest response rate of any TMS provider in the area. In fact, up to 73% of our patients report significant improvement in their symptoms, many even finding complete remission from depression. TMS treatment, has been FDA-cleared since 2008 and is covered by most insurance providers. We also offer our patients weekly group therapy sessions at no additional cost to you. If you’re ready for a different kind of solution, TMS may be what you’ve been looking for. Want to know more?
