Drug and Alcohol Counseling

Advantage Mental Health Center believes in the full recovery of all of its patients, no matter their specific needs. Our objective is to provide patients with a set of healthy practices through our drug and alcohol counseling. Fully committed to understanding the root of the addictive tendency, the intention is to find a solution that allows our patients to lead addiction-free lives.

Danielle Thomassy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP). At Advantage Mental Health Center, she works with patients seeking drug and alcohol counseling and trauma informed care. Her specialty includes all forms of recovery issues, including substance abuse and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a form of psychotherapy designed to help patients deal with particularly distressing memories and/or beliefs that can often lead to addiction-related issues).

Having developed a goal-oriented approach, Danielle works to meet patients where they may currently find themselves on their road to recovery, be it the beginning, the middle, or near the end. Aware of life’s challenges and the difficulty of dealing with addiction, Danielle uses therapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral, dialectal behavioral, and strengths-based techniques. She provides a safe and confidential environment that allows patients to comfortably share their goals, in addition to all of their struggles and successes along the way.

Advantage offers both private, one-on-one sessions and a skills group facilitated by Danielle. Addiction can often feel like a lonely, individual struggle. However, sharing your story in a group setting can often help you better understand your situation, and have tangible hope for recovery. That being said, if you prefer to speak with Danielle privately, we are able to accommodate your needs and schedule an appointment for you. Mental health and finding the path to recovery is our main priority, and Danielle is available to help you in your healing process.
